

Jane Ngige Muturi
Jane Ngige Muturi is Smile Train’s Senior Program Director for East and Southern Africa.
Jane joined Smile Train as a Program Assistant in 2008 and has worked the ranks to her current role, where she oversees the development and implementation of Smile Train’s sustainable and local model of supporting surgery and other forms of comprehensive cleft care in 16 countries.
Since she joined Smile Train, Jane has successfully led multiple cleft care and education/training programs that have made tremendous impact in advancing both treatment accessibility and the safety and quality of care provided in the region. She has also built numerous relationships, including the spearheading of new cleft research capacity initiatives in the East Africa region. All these efforts have furthered Smile Train’s vision to ensure every child with a cleft can lead a full and productive life.
Jane completed her bachelor’s of science degree at Kenyatta University, followed by a Grants Management course at Strathmore University. Prior to joining Smile Train, Jane worked with the Sports Stadia Management Board in Kenya and volunteered at an institution providing formal education to underprivileged adults.
