Omnia Tawfeek is Smile Train’s Senior Program Consultant for Egypt and North Africa. She joined Smile Train in September 2019 to use her passion for public service to put more children than ever before on track to a better future. Omnia is a proud member of Smile Train, where the whole team works diligently with local healthcare workers to provide cleft treatments 365 days a year on five continents.

After seven years as an accomplished civil servant in the Egyptian Cabinet's Information and Decision Support think tank, Omnia chose to get more involved in the vision and direction of women’s issues in the Arab World, with a particular focus on developmental efforts to create a society that believes in equality, citizenship, social justice, and human dignity and respects women's rights. So, she accepted a role heading up the General Arab Women's Federation, where she worked to fight for the establishment of just peace, support national liberation movements and resistance to of all forms of racial discrimination, promote cooperation among Arab women, and defend Arab women's rights, improve their status, and strengthen their resources to participate in society. In addition, Omnia served as the Arab Region’s Organizational Development Director of the World Scout Organization Movement (WOSM) and acted as the organization’s Program Coordinator for 16 Arab countries.

Omnia has spent 15 years developing an exceptional background in people and project management, a professional style based on excellent interpersonal communications, and an ability to make the best possible use of her personal network. She has had the opportunity to participate in a variety of professional training courses, workshops, and seminars that have given her a broad resource base on which to build her career.

In addition to her extensive HR and project management experience, Omnia is a certified ILO Financial Education trainer as well as an English and soft skills trainer. Omnia has delivered career development programs to hundreds of undergraduate students at Egyptian universities. By helping her students formulate principles and morals, she made a difference in their lives every week, and that is one her accomplishments that she finds most rewarding, that endows her with a strong sense of pride and achievement.

Omnia was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Cairo University in English Literature and Translation and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Heriot Watt, Edinburgh Business School.
