Emily Manjeru

Emily serves as the PR and Communications Manager for Smile Train Africa. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism from the United States International University- Africa (USIU-A) and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (UK-based). She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Communication at USIU-A.

In her 14-year career as a public relations professional, she has served blue-chip companies and multinational organizations including the Absa Bank, L’Oreal East Africa, East African Breweries Limited, Kenya Red Cross Society, and the Jack Ma Foundation.

Emily is an award-winning public speaker who has honed her skills in media relations and training, conference moderating/emceeing, and event management.

Emily is passionate about working with people and forming fulfilling relationships, sharing ideas, and volunteering for worthwhile projects and events within the community. To this end, she is a mentor of high school students, a Toastmaster, and Rotarian.

Fondly called Nyina wa Ryan (Mother to Her Only Son Ryan), she enjoys cooking, performing arts, reading novels and current affairs publications, writing short stories, traveling, and watching films and documentaries.
